Despite the word “Droid” plastered everywhere, the new Motorola CommandOne Bluetooth headset ($100) has already become my friend. True, it’ll never learn to pronounce my name correctly, is misunderstood by some of my other friends and has questionable fashion sense. We remain friends, however, because it’s easy to understand and comfortably fits in my ear. It’s unlike most relationships, but it works for us.

FaceKandi is a new app that uses Apple’s FaceTime chat to hook you up with real live people to “chat, flirt, make friends or simply have a bit of fun.”
The live, one-on-one FaceTime chat works on the iPhone 4, the iPad 2 and the fourth-gen iPod Touch. The devs say the app does not store your personal data, or record your Facetime ID.
There’s no rest for the suits: just days after iCloud Communications announced it filed over the use of the iCloud name, publisher J.T. Colby and Co. has filed a suit against Apple over the use of the term “iBook.”
The publisher claims the trademark was bought from Byron Preiss Visual Publications in 2006 as part of a bankruptcy sale. Priess registered his first ISBN for an “iBook” back in 2000 and published over 1,000 titles under the “iBooks” brand.

The inclusion of a physical caps lock key on modern computing devices has annoyed me to no end… because it allows for easy etiquette abuse by a great number of users.
I recently wrote Apple CEO Steve Jobs asking him to lead the way in putting this annoyance to bed. Remove the caps lock key. Replace it with another enter key or something else. It’s only use is FOR SHOUTING IN EMAIL AND BLOG COMMENTS.

The home screen shot above captures what happened when I was trying to rearrange apps. The UI is still quite buggy and all hell can break loose when you least expect it. Moving apps around is even trickier now that folders are an option. Great way to organize apps, still the same horrible system for moving them around!
A tipster has been playing around with the iPhone 4.0 OS beta, and sent us the following report and screenshots.
It seems there’s a glitch with Apple’s new iPhone 4.0 OS beta.
Several developers are having trouble installing the iPhone 4.0 beta on the 3G iPod touch, according to a tip from an iPhone developer.
The developer says there are several posts on Apple’s Developer Forums complaining that the new operating system will not run on third-generation iPod touches. It appears the problem is limited to 32GB models, the developer says.
After loading the OS, programmers are getting the following error message: “The iPod could not be restored. This device isn’t eligible for the requested build.”
The error message is displayed after developers restore the device to firmware bundle 4.0 and try to verify it with Apple.
“It is very odd,” said the developer.
