Apple’s upcoming iOS 19 design overhaul<\/a> will extend to Apple Watch, Apple TV and even the Vision Pro headset that inspired the glossy refresh, according to a new report. This will help the company deliver a more consistent experience across all its devices.<\/p>\n

“tvOS and watchOS will both be redesigned to match their more popular siblings [iOS, macOS and iPadOS], while visionOS will get some adjustments \u2014 in cases where the changes make sense for a headset,” wrote\u00a0Bloomberg<\/em> reporter Mark Gurman in Sunday’s Power On<\/em> newsletter<\/a>. “While iOS 7 in 2013 was the biggest-ever visual change to the iPhone\u2019s software, the latest overhaul will be much more widely felt.”<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

visionOS design will expand to Apple Watch and Apple TV<\/h2>\n

Leaks point to iOS 19 getting a glassy redesign, with the overall look and feel similar to that of visionOS, which powers Apple’s headset. As part of the revamp, Apple reportedly will switch to rounder squircle icons and redesign many system apps<\/a>. Even the Camera app will get an overhaul<\/a>, with Apple moving most controls to the bottom for easy access.<\/p>\n

Rumors indicate Apple will bring the same new design language to iPadOS 19 and macOS 16. The new design language won’t introduce a steep learning curve. Instead, it will give everything a more modern look and feel.<\/p>\n

While bringing a glassy, visionOS<\/a>-style look to its other operating systems, Apple also will improve visionOS itself. The operating system “will get some adjustments \u2014 in cases where the changes make sense for a headset,” Gurman wrote. So, don’t expect anything radical, but there should still be some tweaks.<\/p>\n

Apple’s AI models will come to third-party apps<\/h3>\n

As Gurman previously reported, Apple will allow third-party developers to integrate and use its large language models in their apps<\/a>. This should allow more powerful apps to hit the App Store and help iOS apps differentiate themselves.<\/p>\n

Despite Apple trailing its rivals in AI development, giving developers access to its LLMs could help it to stand out.<\/p>\n

This might be the company’s biggest Apple Intelligence<\/a>-focused announcement at WWDC25. The Apple developers conference kicks off June 9 with a keynote<\/a>, where company execs will showcase new versions of the operating systems.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
